Drug and Alcohol Recovery (Villard, 1990). His
work in addiction recovery informs his views on
the reasons most people have difficulty
learning, remembering, maintaining a stable
mood, performing adequately, and losing and
keeping off weight. It has also shown him how he
can help patients reprogram their minds and
bodies to deal with food in a self-fulfilling
way.
He has had 25 years of
combined formal training and clinical experience
in geriatric, adult, adolescent, and child
psychiatry, and his work has appeared in more
than 60 publications. He has given over 300
educational lectures on the links between food
and learning, mood and performance. He recently
completed 57 Category One Continuing Medical
Education credits in nutrition.
